National Pitching Coordinator

Coach Ryan Block serves as the East Coast Grays national pitching coordinator, working with pitchers and catchers across the organization. Coach Block also serves as the pitching coordinator at Georgia Premier Academy, one of the top baseball high school academies in the country.
Coach Block has a distinguished career as a collegiate pitching coach, making stops at both the Division 1 and 2 levels for top ranked national programs at Stephen F. Austin State University, Florida Southern College, and the University of South Florida.
Coach Block has aided twelve pitchers in going onto professional baseball across his stops. During his time at Stephen F. Austin, SFA received a stopper of the year watch list recipient. The Lumberjack’s pitching staff led the state of Texas in strikeouts through the first quarter of the season.
At Florida Southern, Coach Block had multiple successful years with the Mocs, overseeing four All-SSC pitchers, including First Team honoree Nathan Madej. Three additional pitchers were named to the All-SSC Second Team, with Dawson Lane and Aric McAtee as starters and Ryan Langford as a reliever. Langford signed with the Los Angeles Angels in the summer of 2022.
Coach Block spent two seasons working as an assistant for the University of South Florida baseball team. At USF, he oversaw everyday operations and executed practice and game plans. Coach Block specifically aided in pitcher scouting reports to create a game plan for opposing hitters.
While at USF, Coach Block was part of the first NCAA regional championship in school history when the Bulls won the Gainesville regional, defeating Florida, Miami, and South Alabama. Coach Block and the team advanced to the Austin Super Regional where the Bulls finished a game short of Omaha at the University of Texas.
Coach Block uses his extensive experience as a coach and recruiter at the D1 level to mentor Grays players through the recruiting process, with a particular knowledge and emphasis on what coaches at the next level look for.
